Black and white DIY vases

These vases are pretty simple to make.  I first got the idea from Pinterest, but did my own modifications.  Here are the materials you will need:

  • clear glass jars (as many as you want)
  • spray paint in whatever shade of white you prefer
  • black webbing spray paint
All the materials are available at Michael's or Hobby Lobby.

Step 1: Make sure the jars are clean and completely dry

Step 2: Spray paint the jars with your choice of white paint and let dry.

Step 3: Follow the directions on the paint can as to reapplying the color (reapply as many times as you need). Note here that when I reapplied the paint, the bottom layer of paint wrinkled up.  I think it did that because when I sprayed it the first time, it was really cold outside and when I sprayed the second time, it was kind of warm out.  It's okay if it does that, it just adds texture to it.

Step 4: Once the paint is dry, apply the black webbing.  It sprays pretty far, so depending on how much coverage you want depends on how close you should hold it to the jars.  It sprays a bit like silly string, so it's some pretty thick, stringy stuff.  Let it dry and add whatever flowers you want!
