Don't Let Bleach Ruin Your Favorite Shirt!

I don't think anyone has been able to avoid getting bleach on one of their favorite articles of clothing. This is one of the most aggravating things!  It actually happened to me last night while I was cleaning up after a youth event.  It wasn't until I got home that I saw the tragedy...a pinkish orange spot on my dark brown shirt.  I was so irritated because I was going to have to get rid of a perfectly good shirt, but it wasn't long before I realized I didn't have to get rid of it.  I could just bleach the whole shirt to match the spot!  I didn't have to get rid of my shirt after all :)

Here is what you will need:

2 buckets

tongs

water

about 2 cups of bleach

fabric softener

What to do:

1) Fill both buckets with water
2) Add bleach to one of the buckets

3) Put stained shirt in bleach water using tongs to completely submerge it

4) Keep the shirt submerged until it reaches the color you desire (the one that matches the stain, not: you may need to add more bleach)

5) Wring the shirt out as much as you can and place it in the 2nd bucket containing clean water
6) Rinse the shirt out in the clean water

7) Again, wring the shirt out as much as you can

8) Place in your washer by itself with fabric softener and wash it on the light cycle.

9) When it has been washed, dry the shirt

10) Voila! Admire your new shirt!
